Dedicated to the Fallen

 History of the steel

This piece of steel originates from the World Trade Center's North Tower parking garage.

The terrorist bombing of February 26, 1993 first damaged this steel when it destroyed several levels under the building.

On the morning of September 11, 2001, terrorist-controlled aircraft attacked the World Trade Center, causing the collapse of the South Tower, and then the North Tower.

This steel serves as a memorial to those lost that day, and to the brave men and women who acted heroically during these events.

The monument is a testament to the Audubon Fire Department's commitment to honor the sacrifice of the 343 fallen firefighters, as well as the 9/11 victims as a whole.
